VPN:
So...it' official, VPN has picked up your series, V.A.M.P. to be aired this fall! How do you feel?
Brian :
It feels great VPN is a great place to air your series on. All the shows they so far have on there is amazingly written. But when V.A.M.P was picked up I was very excited and Happy!
VPN:
I bet you were! So, as I understand, V.A.M.P is a spin-off of Buffy so what are some things that big Buffy fans can expect from your spin-off? Are the storylines similar?
Brian :
The storylines are very simular but everything totally original. You will be seeing many of the charaters from Buffy. The vampires are the same and everything such as the bond between friends is shown in the show
VPN:
Okay,okay. So will V.A.M.P focus more on the funny aspects of life as Buffy did or will the show be a little darker like Angel was?
Brian :
I will be showing a little bit of both. In the show there are many funny witty puns just like Xander, Buffy, and Willow said. The darker side will be basicly the around the evil that resides within the show.
VPN:
Good, because I find that every good show has the one comic relief character to make everyone laugh in all the terror and heartache going on. So, I understand that you changed the original premise and overall feel of the show...why?
Brian :
The shows original name was " V.A.M.P Paranormal Department " But then I thought about different ways I could take charaters and actors to a new depth. We have an amazing cast and they have alot more potential then just solving crimes. When we began the next episode we were thinking about how things could change alot. So the entire show plot changed and more as it began to show more and more of the darker side
VPN:
So, I understand that two of your characters in V.A.M.P are also in another VPN series,"Gifted"? Is it hard for them to go from set to set? I could imagine them getting confused on which character they are playing that day.
Brian :
It is very hard. Summer Glau is playing Lizzie in my series and Tiffany in Gifted and Michelle Trachtenberg is playing Melinda in V.A.M.P and playing Brandy in Gifted so it does get confusing for them but they both enjoy working and they love starring in these two series
