VPtoday was able to schedule an interview with Faith the Vampire Slayer's writer and creator, Jack Malone! This is what he had to say about the second season of Faith, coming to VPN in
September!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VP: So, Faith is coming back to VPN for a second season this year, what are some things we fans can expect to see this year?
Jack: Well this season will explore some more darker roots. A lot of our characters will find themselves hitting rock bottom. As for Faith herself, she'll be dealing with the pregnancy in her own way, knowing her, there are a lot of mistakes to be made before she really learns how to take care of a child. We have a new staff writer who has been amazing. He will be writing a few one-shot episodes and I hope to co-write one with him later on in the season. So, I have big year planned for FTVS fans.
VP: Okay so we can except this season 2 be darker, does that mean it will lose it's comedic nature in all?
Jack: Not necessarily. Faith coping with the pregnancy sure has its comedic side to it. The show will still have its humor, but the overall plot for what's in store is much darker than the first season.
VP: Okay, I know I'm not the only one wishing for this but...will any other Buffy/Angel characters make a special guest appearance this season?
Jack: Ooh. Unfortunately no. But, if there are any Drucilla fans out there, I plan for her to be showing up in the show some day soon.
VP: Oh okay that would be interesting! I know you can't reveal too much about season 2 but will there be a whole new, bigger and badder evil to ruin the characters lives this season?
Jack: Aargh. I don't exactly know how to word this right without giving too much away. Let's just say by the end of this season, the big bad will affect our characters both physically and mentally. There is a lot of mystery behind this season (relating to the season's big bad) that leaves everyone in distraught towards the end. I don't know if I can top this season...
VP: I'm sure you will!
So, how many seasons of Faith do you plan to write?
I hear that you've been given a great contract with VPN so basically, you don't have to worry about Faith being canceled at any time right?
Jack: Yeah. Chris, the founder of VPN, has been amazing! I've already set up next year's third season and hopefully will go right through and reach 100 episodes ... (fingers crossed)...
VP: Alright, thank you for your time and good luck with your series!
Jack: Thanks!
